Car importation
Name the make, model, year, trim and budget, and we source that car to order from markets around the world. Your quotation records the CIF destination and whether clearing, registration or inland transport is included.

What this service is
Kabex runs no showroom floor and no bond, and that is the offer rather than a limitation. Every car we sell is one we buy to order, so the car that arrives is the one you described — not the nearest thing somebody already had standing on a lot, bought months ago on somebody else’s judgement of what you would want.
It changes how the price reads, and that is worth understanding before you commit. An import is quoted as CIF — the car, the insurance and the freight — and URA assesses the tax separately once it lands. One cost to you, two bills on paper. It is why the calculators on this site show both: so the whole figure is in front of you before you pay any of it, rather than after the car is sitting at Mombasa.
What you are buying from us, in the end, is a chain of decisions made by somebody who makes them every week. Which market has the model you want. Which year crosses the line into an extra levy. Get those wrong on your own and the saving on the car is gone before it reaches the border.

What it covers, and how it runs
Anything not on this list is worth asking about before you assume it is included.
What is included
Cars sourced to order worldwide, with Japan, China, the UK, South Korea, Germany and the United States among common markets
Trucks, buses and other commercial units from China, alongside passenger cars
Make, model, year, mileage, trim and known faults confirmed in writing before you pay
Auction sheets and inspection reports wherever the exporting market issues them
A JEVIC pre-shipment inspection for each vehicle
Photographs and video of the actual unit, since the car is still abroad when you choose it
One named sales officer from first enquiry through to handover
Clearing, registration, transport and plates where included in your package
Handover at the CIF destination agreed in your order — this may be Mombasa, Kabex’s Kampala office, Nimule, Bunagana or another agreed destination
How it runs
Tell us the car
Make, model, year and budget. If you are not sure, tell us what you need the car for and we will shortlist against that instead.
See what we can source
We come back with the units we can buy for you now — each with photographs, mileage, an auction sheet where the market issues one, and a full price.
Confirm in writing
The quotation sets out the CIF price and URA assessment separately. Review it, ask any questions, and give Kabex a clear go-ahead before the import begins.
Pay and take delivery
After your go-ahead, the agreed start payment is 30% or 50% of the CIF price. The balance is due two weeks before your car reaches port and may be paid in instalments. Your order records the agreed CIF destination and the services included in your package.
About car importation
The things people ask us about this service, answered here rather than on a phone call.
All servicesA car in a bond has already been bought by somebody else, who carried the risk and waiting and priced them in. Importing lets you choose the specification. Your quotation states whether registration is included and how the vehicle will be handed over at the agreed CIF destination.
Not the car itself. It is still abroad when you choose it, because we source each order rather than keeping cars in a Kampala lot. What you get instead is the auction sheet, inspection report and photographs of that exact unit — and you are welcome at Crown House on Kampala Road to go through them with the officer handling your import.
You and Kabex agree the CIF destination before the order is confirmed. Depending on your order, this may be Mombasa, Kabex’s Kampala office, Nimule, Bunagana or another agreed destination. Your quotation sets out whether clearing and inland transport are included.
Tell your Kabex contact as soon as possible. The agreed specification is in writing, and your order records the CIF destination and handover arrangements.
